A charity which was formed to give access to the arts for all, is presenting ‘The Rise And Fall of Little Voice’ at The Brindley, with profits providing drop-in session in both Widnes and Runcorn, providing FREE refreshments, craft and music.

Victoria Music Ltd presents the fabulous Jim Cartwright modern classic about a young girl with a hidden talent. From Thursday 8 to Saturday 10 March. VML Drama is bringing ‘the Rise and Fall of Little Voice’ to the Brindley in Runcorn.

In keeping with the ethos of the Charity VML has cast local Runcorn Grandmother Helen Jenkinson in her first major role in a drama.

Helen has done some musical theatre with VML but this is the first time she will have acted in front of an audience.

Helen said: “Acting and singing was always my passion and dream many years ago but there were no opportunities apart from school plays at the time so my dream died and the confidence went with it.

“I am so pleased and proud of myself getting this part, it has been so much fun working with the rest of the cast that sometimes it’s been difficult to keep a straight face. The script is hilariously funny, passionate with dialogue and accents that challenge my acting skills”.

Directing this memorable piece of theatre is well know local artist Adam Choat, who is also one quarter of the popular Take Phat tribute act. Adam said “Directing this show has been an amazing experience for me and I know my passion for it will be conveyed on the stage through the brilliant cast in the show”.

Tickets are on sale at the Brindley box office 0151-907-8360 or online at www.thebrindley.org.uk and remember every penny of the profits raised will go to helping develop local children and to community wellbeing.

The drop-in sessions, for people isolated or in need of community, are 1pm to 3pm every Thursday in the meeting room of St Michaels Greenway Rd, Runcorn and 10am to 12noon every Friday morning at St Pauls Church Hall, Victoria Square, Widnes.
