More than 500 people got into the festive spirit at Halton Lea and Widnes libraries’ Christmas Cracker events

Children took part in Christmas crafts, making cards and lanterns, while the Mersey Wave choir serenaded library visitors with carols.

There was also the opportunity to try your hand at various activities held at the libraries throughout the year, including Lego, coding, adult colouring in and storytimes.

Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for Libraries, Cllr Phil Harris, said: “The Christmas cracker was a fun-filled event that showcased all of the activities our libraries have to offer. If you haven’t visited your library recently, make it your resolution in 2017.”
