The Brindley, Halton’s Borough Council’s multi-award winning theatre, is gearing up for another big season this Spring with a line-up including stars of Coronation Street, Emmerdale, bands such as The Blockheads and even Jimi Hendrix’s brother!

The venue has recently been awarded a prestigious Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence for the second year running and there is plenty of excellent entertainment on offer in Runcorn from January onwards at Halton’s flagship venue. Not forgetting that the free parking available is an added bonus.

Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for The Arts, Cllr Phil Harris, said: “We have tried to make sure there is something for everyone this season, no matter your age or taste in art/music.

“There are household names and some newcomers to the scene well worth checking out.”

One of the well-known names coming this Spring is the Strictly Come Dancing star Pasha Kovalev who brings his brand new show The Magic of Hollywood to Runcorn for two nights on Sunday 15 April and Wednesday 9 May.

The show will be jam packed with sequins, glitz and glamour as Pasha takes to the stage with his sensational dancers.

There are shows for all ages, such as What the Ladybird Heard and Easter Bunny’s Eggs Factor for the little ones and the Wizard of Oz in April starring Emmerdale’s Gemma Oaten and Coronation Street’s Nick Cochrane, for all the family.

The amazing Chicago Blues Brothers are back with a brand new show and G4 Frontman Jonathan Ansell and Rhydian Roberts present the biggest hit songs from West End and Broadway musicals in Les Musicals on Saturday 23 June.

The venue continues to be place to see the best of the comedy circuit with the likes of Chris Ramsey, Patrick Monahan and the brilliant Count Arthur Strong appearing this season. The much loved actor John Challis, better known as Boycie presents his one man show Only Fools & Boycie.

There are also several hilarious comedy plays including Desperate Scousewives 2 in January and Skin Deep, a musical revue about body image, diets, the gym, selfies, Botox, nip ‘n’ tucks, photo-shopping and what we endure trying to look good. It’s a show about everybody for everybody!

There’s a treat for fans of classic rock when Leon Hendrix, younger brother of Jimi Hendrix, will play all of Jimi’s hits along with a Q&A and ‘meet and greet’ on Friday 8 June.

Legends The Blockheads will appear on Friday 20 April to play Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick, Reason’s to be Cheerful and more. There are great tribute shows to Michael Jackson and Prince and tributes to Little Mix and the Spice Girls show ‘Wannabe’ for the more pop minded.

The Dublin Legends (formerly The Dubliners) appear on Monday 30 April, and look out for more great intimate acoustic shows in the Brindley Studio.

On Tuesday 13 March, connoisseurs and newcomers to ballet can enjoy A Midsummer Night’s Dream presented by Ballet Theatre UK.
All this is just a taster of the Brindley’s forthcoming season. Details of all shows can be found at www.thebrindley.org.uk.
