Have you got relatives from Runcorn who died in WWI and WWII? We want to hear from you!

Halton Borough Council has volunteers from Cheshire County Memorial Roll coming in, on Saturday at Halton Lea Library from 10am to 2.30pm, to gather information from local Runcorn residents about their relatives who have died in those conflicts.

This information will then be put on website http://www.cheshirecountymemorialroll.com/ which serves as a great resource for those doing local and family history.

The project has been working on the roll for five years and in that time they have built up a fantastic database which is now in the process of being uploaded.

There are around 5,000 stories drafted and ready to add, with many stories already on.

One of the stories already added is Sergeant Richard Newport (his page can be found here
