Widnes has what is thought to be a first for local markets, an estate agents on a stall.

Open House is part of an online estate agents network providing many property services as well as selling or letting houses.

In what is thought to be a first for a traditional market, Open House decided that its face to face operation can be carried out at Widnes Market.

Markets have traditionally been home to many and carried outlets, Marks and Spencer, Tesco, Innocent Drinks and Dunelm all started trading as a market stall before moving onto the traditional bricks and mortar we now see in the high street.

Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for the Physical Environment, Cllr Ron Hignett: “Widnes market has proved itself as a business incubator with many local beauty businesses and fashion stores having started within the market in the past.

“As well as housing thriving retail businesses, the market would like further office-based ventures to consider locating within the market to take advantage of its loyal and expanding following.”

Widnes Market has a limited number of customer facing stalls available for immediate let from January 1, 2018.
