Author Joseph Delaney of ‘The Spook’s Apprentice’ books fame is coming to Halton.

He will be coming to Halton Lea Library on Thursday 2 February and Widnes Library on Friday 10 February both sessions are 10-12pm.

Schools are being invited to bring year six or seven children in for the events.

The Spook’s Apprentice is the first story in the series “The Wardstone Chronicles”.

The plot is centred on a 12-year-old farm boy named Tom who lives in the countryside of The County, loosely based on Lancashire, with his large family.

As Tom is the seventh son of a seventh son he is able to see things others cannot, such as boggarts, ghosts and others.

The first book was adapted into a 2014 film titled Seventh Son released in 3-D and IMAX 3D and starring Julianne Moore and Jeff Bridges.
