Runcorn born playwright Matthew Roberts, the man behind ‘Sunny Runny Runcorn’ is bringing his Christmas play ‘Turkey Tinsel’ to the Brindley Theatre on Thursday 29 December.

Think of The Exotic Marigold Hotel but in Runcorn at Christmas time!

Turkey Tinsel, tells the tales of those residents whose past must not be forgotten, but treasured as gifts – not just for Christmas!

It follows a nurse on a coach holiday tour to the many hotels that celebrate season’s greetings in the lead up to Christmas.

You are invited you to join Gladys, Flora, Norris, Annie, Winnie and Wilfred, Diana and Danny; Keith, Chloe, Catherine and Flo; Sidney, Shirley and the rest of the crowd you will warmly get to know.

The play celebrates togetherness and inspires us to reflect on the past and encourages us to look to the future optimistically.

It promises to be an evening of warmth, wonder and joy, a  gem of a show in between Christmas and New Year.

Matthew says of the play “Turkey Tinsel has been inspired by his ‘nan’ and her annual Christmas adventures across the UK traveling to hotels to enjoy the magic of a ‘Turkey and Tinsel’ seasonal break.

It showcases the amazing times their generation lived through and the contributions they have made to the world”.

The performance starts at 6.30pm and tickets are £12, £10 from www.thebrindley.org.uk and the box office on 0151 907 8360.
