Halton MakeFest is back for 2021! This free festival is jam-packed with fun things to do for all the family.
This year the festival will be online and runs between 16 and 19 February.
It is part of the ‘Celebrate Halton’, Borough of Culture 2021 celebrations and includes crafts, music, writing and more.
Each day of the festival there will be two live-streamed activities at 10am and 3pm. All of the activities focus on a different creative topic so there are plenty of workshops to choose from.
Makers and activities at this year’s Halton MakeFest include:
- ●Halton Libraries – Origami and Book Art
- ●A Place For Us / Natalie McCool – Masterclass Songwriting
- ●Spark Penketh – Introduction to iDEA Award
- ●The Studio – Creative Writing
- ●Camp Curiosity – Making Bird Feeders
- ●The Reader – Shared Reading
- ●Rachael Prime from Hazlehurst Studios – Bubble and Fabric Painting
- ●Claire Pitt From Hazlehurst Studios – Flower Pressing
All of the sessions will be streamed live through the Halton MakeFest’s, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter channels. If you are unable to watch any of the live streams at the time they go out, don’t worry as all of the videos will be available on-demand via the social media channels straight after the live broadcast.
Mako Create is the main event organiser; they were inspired by other Makefests from around the world particularly the Liverpool Makefest.
Sean O’Hare from Mako Create says: “We are thrilled that we are able to deliver Halton MakeFest this year. With everything going on in the world it’s more important than ever for people to have the opportunity to try something new, be creative, and learn new skills. We have a brilliant line-up this year and I’d like to thank all of the local creative organisations who have worked so hard to make this year’s festival happen.”
