Three of Halton Borough award winning parks are now displaying their new “Green Flags”. as well as new Union Flags and the Halton Coat of Arms.

The Green Flag Award is administered by Keep Britain Tidy; it recognises and rewards well managed parks and green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.

The three have been awarded to Victoria Park, Hale Park, and Runcorn Hill Park once again.

This year’s awards are particularly well earned as Park Workers have endeavoured to keep our parks and open spaces safe, clean, and tidy at a time when people are staying local and appreciating the value of places on their doorstep more than ever before.

Halton Parks Manager, Paul Boardman, said: “It has been encouraging to see our parks so well used during the last 12 months, and the awards are a reflection on the hard work by our staff which goes in to maintaining our open spaces on a daily basis.

“We also continue to thank the public for playing their part in making our parks pleasurable places to visit.”
