Foster Carers in Halton have come together once more to host their annual fundraising event.

Registered charity “Another Chance to Care” has been set up and managed by Foster Carers in Halton for over 10 years, their main intention is to fund more fully inclusive trips and events for local fostering families.

This years Grand Charity Auction was a memorable night for everyone in attendance; fostering families, children in their care, Fostering Team Head of Service and Managers, Executive Board Member for Children, Young People and Families, Cllr Tom McInerney and The Mayor of Halton Councillor Kevan Wainwright.

Fundraising efforts well and truly exceeded the ambitious target, with over £1800 raised.

Jamie Pope, Head of Service for the fostering team in Halton, was the Auctioneer at this years event, he said“I am delighted to be in the room with all of the wonderful people who make the lives of our cared for children better. I think I took the role of auctioneer very seriously to make sure this years target was met!”

Generous people, businesses and organisations from the community donated plenty of coveted prizes for the auction. Amongst the 19 sought after items, was a ladies Mulberry Purse, Pamper Hamper and Chester Zoo tickets. Some of the donations have come from Funky Hampers, The Everglades Hotel and The Mayor’s Charity.

But the auction wasn’t the only draw at the exciting event, invited guests enjoyed an American themed buffet, DJ and raffle.

Events like this are a reminder about the profound impact our Foster Carers make to children in their care and the importance of coming together to go over and above.
