Halton primary school children have produced a stunning exhibition to celebrate the borough’s 50th anniversary.
50 Tiles features ceramic tiles designed by pupils across the borough, highlighting Halton’s rich heritage, with landmarks such ase the Mersey Gateway Bridge, Victoria Park’s Butterfly House, and Halton Castle creatively brought to life.
Children from 29 schools submitted paper designs, with one from each school chosen to be digitally transferred onto ceramic tiles. These tiles, now permanently displayed at Halton Lea and Widnes Libraries, celebrate the community’s shared identity and pride.
All of the original paper designs will also be on display at both libraries until January 2025, showcasing the creativity of every child who took part.
Halton’s Mayor and Mayoress, Cllr Kevan Wainwright and Andrea Wainwright, visited the libraries to meet the children and view their work.
