Speaking at the Halton Local Offer launch at the Heath Business and Technical Park, Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for Children and Young People, Cllr Tom McInerney said: “It’s great to be at today’s event and to meet many of the local services and stakeholders who have been actively involved in creating our new look Halton Local Offer.
“One of the things our young people and families have told us is that they’d like to know more about what’s on offer locally and for it to be easier to navigate the internet to find the information at the point when they need it.
“We’ve listened to this feedback and working with Beebot – who have already developed the Halton Family Hubs Digital Offer – we’ve created this one-stop-shop for all things SEND in Halton.”
As well as launching the new look Halton Local Offer, those attending the launch event have also been looking at the next phase of development, thinking about how the technology that sits behind Halton Local Offer can be used to create bespoke and automated content that supports young people and families depending on where they are in their SEND journey.
Michelle Creed Interim SEND Governance & Quality Assurance Lead for NHS Cheshire & Merseyside (Halton Place) said: “Today has been a really good opportunity for partners across the SEND system in Halton to come together to think about what’s next for the Halton Local Offer.”
“We’re committed to keep improving the experience for our local SEND families, and new technologies can help us to do this – for example by keeping people better informed with real-time updates on expected service wait times, or streamlining internal processes to make them faster and more efficient.
“I’m really excited to see how the Halton Local Offer develops in the months ahead.”
The new Halton Local Offer was developed with the involvement of young people, families, carers and practitioners – meaning it is designed to meet the needs of the people who will be using it every day.
