Put Tuesday 29 October 2019 in your diary as a little bit of Geordie comes to Runcorn – and not a hint of Jimmy Nail. Gazza or Vera in sight!
There will be a night of songs and stories, laced with north east humour and humanity at the Halton Borough Council’s Brindley Theatre, when the Pitmen Poets come to the award-winning venue.
From Billy Elliot to Close the Close the Coalhouse Door. When the Boat Comes in to the Pitman Painters, the songs and stories of the Pitmen Poets featuring former Lindisfarne frontman, Billy Mitchell, respected folk guitarists and singers Bob Fox and Benny Graham and Jez Lowe, BBC Folk Awards nominee for best singer and best new song.
“Whoever’s idea it was to bring these four together for a show should be awarded a gold medal for services to music. Sheer utter brilliance….a stunning story of triumph and tragedy.”
