Halton born and bred actor, director, and youth theatre creator Andrew Curphey has been revealed as another star of this year’s Halton Borough Council Brindley Panto.
After rave reviews playing Dandini in last years production of Cinderella, Andrew is returning to play the principal role of ‘Chester the Jester’
Presented by Polka Dot Pantomimes, Sleeping Beauty runs from 11 December until 14 January at the multi-award winning Halton Borough Council venue. (See website for all show dates and times)
Having worked extensively delivering theatre workshops and performing for more than 15 years, the multi-skilled Widnes thesp, Andrew, saod he was delighted to be returning.
Over the past nine years the talented former Bankfield and Cronton Sixth Form College pupil has created and continues to manage and direct the Andrew Curphey Theatre Company with more than 200+ children and young people enrolled across evening and weekend classes.
Each year the company produce three theatre productions that are staged at The Brindley Theatre. Andrew also regularly performs his one man show ‘A Mic, Music and Me’ at The Brindley which features song, chat and plenty of humour.
He was also a heat judge in Halton’s Got Talent.
He said: “I am so excited and thrilled to be returning to The Brindley. I enjoyed panto so much last year and it’s great to be back. I am grateful to Polka Dot and Halton Borough Council for giving me the chance and I can promise the audience will love the show.”
Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for The Arts, Cllr Phil Harris, said: “We are very pleased to announce a local actor for this prominent role. It shows what talent we have here in Halton.”
Christopher Pym will return to The Brindley as Prince Harry in our #BrindleyPanto, Sleeping Beauty. He will play alongside Rebecca Lake, Princess Aurora. The two paired up last year in Cinderella at the multi-award winning Halton Borough Council theatre.
Crissy Rock was announced last week as Fairy Nuff.
