A Widnes man put on a distinctly above par performance to get a silver medal in a world disability golf tournament.
Bobbie Wright, aged 23, from Widnes, came second and brought home a silver medal from the three-day Macau Golf Masters.
He travelled to Macau China with his dad Robert Wright age 45, they stayed at the world famous MGM Sheraton hotel and visited the the City of Dreams Casino where they watched the House of Dancing Water among other attractions.
Bobbie excelled in a field of 43 competitors from 17 countries such as the USA, South Korea and Australia.
The twenty-three -year-old works at The Route Café. Both The Route Café and North Priory Café and are run by Halton Borough Council for adults with learning difficulties
Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for Sport, Cllr Phil Harris, said: “This is a great achievement and this young man is an inspiration to others.”
Bobbie takes part in the Special Olympics, the world’s largest sports organisation for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, providing year-round training and competitions to 5.7 million athletes and Unified Sports partners in 172 countries.
