Digital Marketing Ambassador student placement scheme

A new initiative designed to help local independent retail and services businesses to develop, maintain and enhance their digital marketing capability and enable university students to gain practical experience of marketing communications strategy within a real business. The scheme has been developed by Edge Hill Business School at Edge Hill University and the Combined Liverpool City Region Investment team.

Placement students on the scheme will undertake a range of activities, which might include

  • Undertaking a marketing situation analysis for your business
  • Offering a critical review of the company’s marketing communications strategy (including an evaluation of social media and web presence)
  • Producing a report for the business with recommendations for how to develop these areas
  • Implementing changes and measuring their impact

We are looking for an expression of interest from independent retail and service businesses. This is pilot scheme and therefore there are a limited number of placements available.

  • You currently have a physical selling location but have a limited online presence and are engaged in little or no social media activity related to your business
  • You would be interested in helping a student get exposure to real world marketing challenges
  • This is an unpaid short-term role for the student

We recognise that this is a busy trading period coming up so at this stage those with an expression of interest can email either Kim Cassidy Kim.cassidy@edgehill.ac.uk or Andrea Cunningham, cunninga@edgehill.ac.uk with a few details about the business and why you are interested in the scheme. Please include contact details so we can get back to you. The assignment of students to an appropriate business will take place in early January.
