Halton libraries are marking National Libraries Week (October 8-13) with various activities, including a World Mental Health Day showcase.
This event, on Wednesday 10 October, 2-4pm, will highlight the different ways the library can help people of all ages with their mental health and wellbeing.
On offer will be activities with a wellbeing focus for adults and children including shared reading groups, board games, adult colouring in and an introduction to self-help books.
The free drop-in event takes place at both Widnes and Halton Lea libraries. Refreshments available.
Regular library activities will also be running as usual, including code clubs, Lego Club, Rhymetime, IT clinics and Saturday stories, all free of charge.
Cllr Phil Harris, Halton Council’s portfolio holder for library services, says: “We have a great programme of activities during Libraries Week that we hope will bring the community together and find out more about the ways we can help with your wellbeing. Everyone is welcome and the library is free to join.”
New visitors can join the library any time during opening hours, or online by visiting www.halton.gov.uk/join and your library card will be sent in the post.
Libraries Week is the annual showcase of the best that UK libraries of all kinds have to offer, encouraging everyone to discover their library on the second week of October.
