With the new Dr Who revealed to be a woman we are keen to show what amazing stuff women are ALREADY doing in Halton. Not fighting Daleks and Cybermen, but obesity, by leading coaching sessions.
Halton Borough Council is celebrating ‘brilliant female coaches’ in Halton from 11.30am to 1.30pm on Wednesday (19 July) with free demonstration classes of zumba and thai chi (outside, weather permitting)
A ‘passing the baton’ ceremony will take place with , with a giant baton touring the North West as well as information on activities running throughout Halton at the #PassOnYourPassion event.
Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for Sport, Cllr Phil Harris, said: “All are welcome to attend, and see what great motivational talent we have here in Halton.”
MPS, formerly known as Merseyside Sports Partnership, is celebrating #PassOnYourPassion from Monday 17 July to Sunday 23 July here in Merseyside.
During this week we will receive a giant baton which is touring 13 Northern counties over the summer to raise awareness of the role played by female coaches and celebrate their contribution.
The presence of the baton will not only provide the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the role played by our coaches, its presence will also provide a focal point for inspiring the next generation.
