A huge congratulations to all the schools recognised at this year’s Halton Healthy Schools Celebration, held this morning at the DCBL Stadium. The annual event shines a spotlight on how schools across the borough are working to improve the health and wellbeing of their pupils, staff, and wider communities.
This year the event included presentations from St Gerards RC Primary School, Moorfield School, Bridgewater Park Primary, Our Lady Mother of The Saviour Primary School, Lunt’s Health Primary, Moore Primary School, Ormiston Bolingbroke Academy and The Heath School.
Our theme this year is ‘Protecting Our Futures’, and schools’ presentations were all about how the rest of our lives are shaped by what we do today. Themes included sustainability, the environment, mental health and wellbeing, a school’s journey to becoming an Eco School and the work of school Health Champions.
We were also honoured to welcome the Mayor and Consort of Halton, Councillors Martha and Peter Lloyd Jones, who presented the certificates.
The awards are coordinated by our Health Improvement Team, part of the Public Health Team.
