We have a star of CITV joining our Sleeping Beauty panto cast this year – You may also recognise theatre stalwart Nick Wymer from parts in Father Ted, Paul Merton The Series and The Bill.

The all-rounder, who will play our King,  has also appeared in ads for Weetabix and a Bollywood blackbuster as well as numerous TV shows and theatre productions (even a stint in a show in Beirut!)

He will join local legend and Benidorm/I’m A Celebrity StarCrissy Rock, in this show. Other cast members include Charlie Griffiths, TV’s former Miss British Isles Rebecca Lake, actor/model and reality TV star Christopher Pym, local theatre star, Andrew Curphey and veteran dame Robert Squire, in the Brindley production.

Nick said he was delighted to be joining the cast at Halton Borough Council’s Brindley Theatre in Runcorn. The show, presented by Polka Dot Pantomimes runs from 11 December – 14 January (See website for all show dates and times)

He recently appeared at the Epstein Theatre Liverpool playing Peter Quince in Midsummer Night’s Dream and last year toured as Douglas Smith in the 50th Anniversary Tour of Round The Horne (a play based on the classic BBC radio series), which enjoyed an 8 week run in London earlier this year. Nick spent last summer touring with GB Theatre playing Friar Laurence in Romeo and Juliet and Touchstone in As You Like It. Other Shakespeare roles have included Brutus in Julius Caesar,

Theseus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Capulet, Escalus and Friar Laurence in Romeo and Juliet. As a regular performer in pantomime Nick has appeared in recent years at venues like The Echo Arena, Liverpool, Palace Theatre, Newark, The Regent Theatre, Ipswich, Lowther Pavillion, Lytham, The Embassy Theatre, Skegness, The Majestic in Retford and even at the Theatre du Liban in Beirut, Lebanon! His roles have included Ugly sister, Mother Goose, Baron Hardup, Henchman and Abanazar.

Nick is best known to younger audiences as the head teacher Principle Tubb in CITV’s My Phone Genie a role he portrayed regularly in numerous episodes. Other notable TV appearances include classic C4 comedy series Father Ted, The Bill, Hippies, Paul Merton the series and Big Train. Films include the Bollywood blockbuster Nennokodine.

Other screen work includes commercials for Weetabix and Swiss supermarket chain Migros.
