Once again Widnes Market Traders, supported by Halton Borough Council, have brought Father Christmas and a a free grotto to The Market to thank their customers and bring a bit of festive cheer.
Every Saturday in December, plus Thursday 21 and Friday 22 December the grotto will be open between 10am and 4pm.
For many years, Halton Borough Council’s Market has been one of the few places in the region where you can bring your children to see Santa for free. This year once again, the traders are giving away a free Santa Selfie where your children to have their picture taken with the big man himself.
There will also be walk about characters to meet and some great festive offers from the traders. As usual at times of celebration, the market traders also want to collect for those in need. The nominated charity is CLIC Sargent, for who the traders have collected nearly £5,000 so far.
Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for the Physical Environment, Cllr Ron Hignett, said: “Our free grotto is always a crowd-puller an Please come and browse the stalls while you are here and buy those Christmas presents.
“We are also encouraging people to donate this worthwhile charity while they are there.”
