Halton Borough Council is helpng you get into the Christmas spirit as, The Brindley Theatre, Runcorn shows a series of classic Yuletide films this festive period.

The series starts with Scrooged on Sunday 19 December at 7pm.

Bill Murray stars as a cynical, mean spirited television executive, who is forced to learn the true meaning of Christmas when he’s visited by three ghosts, in a retelling of Dickens classic tale.

On Monday 20 December you can see the 1994 version of festive classic Miracle on 34th Street. A Six-year-old Susan Walker discovers dreams do come true if you really believe. Starring Richard Attenborough, Elizabeth Perkin and Dylan McDermott.

The Polar Express starring Tom Hanks, Chris Coppola and Michael Jeteris showing on Wednesday 22 December. This is the story of a young hero boy on Christmas Eve who boards on a powerful magical train that’s headed to the North Pole and Santa Claus’s home.

You can see Tim Burton’s Disney classic A Nightmare Before Christmas on Thursday 23 December. Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloween Town, is bored with doing the same thing every year for Halloween, so he tries to get the resident bats, ghouls, and goblins of Halloween Town to help him put on Christmas instead of Halloween, but alas, they can’t get it quite right.

On Christmas Eve at 2pm, there is a chance to see the festive favourite It’s A Wonderful Life starring James Stewart & Donna Reed in the festively decorated Studio and seasonal refreshments are included in the tickets price of £13.
