Hillview Women’s Club got double its usual attendance with more than 30 coming to an open evening last week after publicity from Halton Boroguh Council and members leafleting the area.
The welcoming group held a recruitment drive on Tuesday 25 September at St Mark’s Church, Beechwood Avenue, Runcorn.
The Halton Lea and Beechwood Local Area Forum supported Hill View Women’s Club with their membership drive with a grant.
The 37 year old society meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 8pm and is open to all ages with regular activities including guest speakers, workshops and even day trips.
The open evening featured a sale of beautiful scarves, jewellery, handbags etc all at reasonable prices.
Entrance £3 includes refreshments and raffle.
Attendees were presented with a buffet, complete with homemade cakes provided by their regular members.
Samantha White from My Pink Angel was showcasing her scarves and other products, teaching the women many different was of wearing them.
The committee hopes this will only continue! If you wish to join the group, they meet every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at St Mark’s Church in Beechwood 8pm to -9:30pm.

9th October – Specsavers talking about good eye and ear health.
23rd October – Artist from Liverpool will be talking about her work and running a workshop for members to have a go.
13th November – Palacefields Ukulele Group will be performing for the group with sing along songs.
27th November – Christmas Bingo and Raffle.
11th December – Groups Christmas Meal – Book required for this evening
