Halton Borough Council is consulting the public on charges for care provided at home (domiciliary care) and is inviting people to complete a short survey to help understand views.

Currently, there are a small number of clients who receive subsidised care services even though they are deemed able to afford the full cost of their care, according to legislation. This relates to domiciliary care clients who receive support from two carers but only pay for one of them, as the Council currently covers the cost of the second carer.

It is proposed that this subsidy be withdrawn to bring the Council in line with the Care Act. As part of the consultation process, we are working directly with those who may be affected but we are inviting anyone to feed back their views by completing this short survey. Closing date is 30 August 2021.
