Hundreds of young people expected to ‘Run For Fun’ in Widnes

About 800 pupils are expected to be running for fun, in WIdnes, on Thursday 7 June.

Go Run For Fun at Victoria Park will see pupils from 12 primary schools running the 2km course.

The events is organised by Halton Borough Council’s Sports Development Team in partnership with the Great Run Company.

 Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for Sport, Cllr Phil Harris, said: “Where better than this beautiful park for young people to enjoy some healthy, fun exercise. Perhaps they will get a taste for it and join one of the Park Runs?”

Schools arrive at 10am with the run starting at 11am after a warm up with the events mascot. The event will finish at 12noon.

There is a  Junior Parkrun held at Victoria Park, Widnes every Sunday at 9am.
