The cult comedy character and fictional singer/songwriter John Shuttleworth is appearing at the Brindley Theatre, Runcorn on Wednesday 12 February with his new show John Shuttleworth ‘s Back.. is giving him trouble.
Years of strenuous DIY, not to mention playing his organ whilst perched upon a multi pack of Diet Sprite with no lumber support, has taken its toll.
But ever the trouper, John returns to regale audiences with an evening of his classic songs (plus new ones and hilarious ‘back’ stories), pausing only to reapply his deep heat rub!
Versatile singer/organist from Sheffield South Yorkshire. Ambition is to succeed in the sphere of popular music. Retired Security Guard, hobbies are swimming, pingpong and DIY. My sole agent and next-door neighbour (the same person, you know) is Ken Worthington – TV’s clarinet man.
His awards include a £5 Boots voucher in 1998 for completing a giant jigsaw in record time. He also came joint first in an art contest judged by the late great Tony Hart. Mind you, they were the only participants, but still, fantastic!
Tickets for this comedy treat are £20, £18 from www.thebrindley.org.uk and the Brindley box office on 0151 907 8360.
