Roses are red, violets are blue. Pop along to Grangeway or Upton we have St Valentine’s events for you! It is the first of ten events, taking place in both Community Centres for older people.
There will be food and drinks served to the table, entertainment and a free raffle. All for £5 a head. Fancy dress is optional at these events, with prizes for the best dressed.
Valentine’s events take place on Monday 11 February at Grangeway and Tuesday 19 February at Upton Community Centre.
Other events include Psychedelic 60’s on March 11/19; Alice in Wonderland on Apr 8/16; Country and Western, May 13/21. The Wizard Of Oz, June 10/18; Elvis and the 50s, July 8/16; Seaside Holiday Camp, August 12/20; The Oscars, Monday 9/17 September; Halloween October 14/22 and Armed Forces Past and Present from on November 11/19.
Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for Health and Wellbeing, Cllr Marie Wright, said: “Everyone is made to feel very welcome, it’s a great way to make new friends, with lots of fun and laughter, singing and if people want to, they can have a dance.
“Following a successful trial at Upton community centre at the end of last year we are now doing events both sides of the bridge in 2019, giving more people access .”
