Relatives of Millbrow residents told CQC inspectors that staff were “lovely, kind and caring” in recent CQC inspection.
Millbrow Care Home in Widnes, owned and operated by Halton Borough Council, provides support to older people living with dementia and nursing needs.
The home had last been inspected in 2020 when CQC gave Millbrow an overall rating of ‘Requires Improvement’.
We’re please to announce that the latest inspection report published on 24th June 2025 following an inspection in early June, gave Millbrow an overall rating of ‘Good’. Millbrow received a ‘Good’ rating across each of the 5 areas CQC asses against :- Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.
Inspectors found that people living in the home were “treated with kindness and respect, with their privacy and dignity protected”, and the staff ensured high-quality care, with the right skills, qualifications, and experience, alongside ongoing training.
Halton Borough Council and staff at Millbrow are extremely pleased with the outcome of the inspection.

Following the 2020 inspection many improvements were made within the home and it is only now with this recent inspection that these improvements have been able to be formally recognised.
