There are two new breastfeeding support groups starting in Halton – one in Widnes and one in Runcorn.
The Halton Infant Feeding Team (part of Halton Health Improvement Team) offers support to families in Runcorn & Widnes around breastfeeding and all aspects feeding your baby.
In Runcorn, it will be every Thursday at the Shopping City, in the community hub, from Thursday 28 February.
In Widnes, the new group will take place every Tuesday at the Marks and Spencer Café at Widnes Shopping Park, from Tuesday 5 March.
As well as home visits, the team run drop-in support groups for mums and families to come along, with their babies and other children and get advice and support from our breastfeeding support workers and socialise with other parents.
Chloe Loseby, Store Manager of the Widnes M & S store aid: “We’re delighted to bring this support group to our café! We’re very family friendly and get lots of new mums here and staff will help any mum who needs to feed their baby.
“These support sessions are a great opportunity to get help and share experiences with other parents.”
Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for Health and Wellbeing, Cllr Marie Wright, said: “We encourage all new mums to take advantage of these groups, where there is a great opportunity to learn from and share experienced with each other.”
