Halton Borough Council is urging people who find themselves with a cash flow problem to use credit unions, rather than loan sharks.
Halton Credit Union now has a Widnes town centre office, launched on Saturday 7 September at 110 Widnes Road, Simms Cross, Widnes (up the road from ASDA).
It joins sites at Runcorn Shopping City and Queens Avenue, Widnes.
Halton’s Mayor, Councillor Margaret Horabin, cut the ceremonial ribbon in a ceremony attended by MP Derek Twigg.
Credit unions offer loans at low rates, savings among other services. For more information call
