An online campaign to get people thinking about their favourite parks, and taking summer and autumnal pictures of our open spaces #LoveHaltonsParks #FallIntoHalton has gone viral, with more than half a millions social media impressions.

Dozens of pictures were sent in, particularly from people braving the cold and enjoying our autumnal scenery. While park officers reported more people, less litter and people being more friendly towards them.

The 139 #LoveHaltonsParks Facebook posts, saw a total reach of 281,945. Of the 185 total tweets there were 255,975 total impressions. 537.92 by mid-November.

For #FallIntoHalton we had a total of 62, 871 total impressions from 33 FB posts and 42 Twitter posts. This gave a total of more than 600,000 and rising!

Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for the Physical Environment, Cllr Ron Hignett, said: “What was great is the online clicks translated into people coming and using our parks responsibly.”
