Members of The Royal British Legion, Halton District and Widnes District, extend a cordial invitation to individuals, organisations and associations to take part in the Annual Civic Services of Remembrance that will take place in Widnes and Runcorn on Sunday 14 November 2021.

The Widnes Service

will be held at the War Memorial, Victoria Park, Widnes. The Civic Procession will assemble at 10.05am at Esposito’s Café by the Band Stand in the park.  The parade will move off at 10.35am prompt to arrive at the War Memorial for 10.45am.

Hale Village

Parade sets off from Aran Close, Hale Village at 10.30am to begin Service at the War Memorial 10.45.

The Runcorn Service

will be held at the Cenotaph, Greenway Road, Runcorn.  The Civic Procession will assemble at St Michael’s Church, Greenway Road, Runcorn at 2.30pm and will move off at 2.45pm prompt to arrive at the Cenotaph at 3.00pm.

 Halton Village

9.55 Service at St Mary Church then meet at Halton British Legion. Parade to Halton Village Cemetery for 11.00 am

Rededication of Gardens of Remembrance – War Memorial, Runcorn

Monday 8 November 2021 at 2.00pm

part of the two lawns on either side of the War Memorial will be rededicated as Gardens of Remembrance.

A short service of dedication will be held for that purpose and persons wishing to place British Legion Remembrance Crosses are most welcome to do so.

 

Two Minute Silence – 11 November 2021 at 11.00 am

The Royal British Legion has made an appeal to the general public and to organisations to observe a two minutes silence on the 11th November at 11.00am.

Halton Borough Council has agreed to endorse the appeal on behalf of members and staff.
