Our gritters are currently out treating Halton’s road network in preparation for tonight’s sub-zero road temperatures. This equates to 341km -approximately 52% of the total network.
- During the last few days the teams have treated the road network 7 times using over 160 tonnes of salt.
- Town centres and footbridges have been hand treated each day.
- Our 75 grit bins were all filled and are in the process of being refilled.
Please note that grit bins are located at junctions and similar locations to aid drivers using the roads – the grit in these bins is not intended for use on pathways and driveways.
