A parliamentary by-election for the Runcorn and Helsby constituency is to be held on Thursday 1 May 2025.
The notice of election will be formally published on Friday 28 March 2025.
The deadline for the receipt of nominations for candidates who wish to stand in the election is 4pm on 2 April 2025.
Nomination papers can be downloaded from the Electoral Commission’s website, where guidance on how to complete the relevant forms can also be found.
Nomination papers must be hand delivered to: Elections Office, Municipal Building, Kingsway, Widnes, WA8 7QF, between 10am and 4pm from Monday 31 March to Wednesday 2 April.
If, as is expected, the election is contested by rival candidates, the poll will take place on Thursday 1 May 2025 between 7am and 10pm.
A poll card will be issued to every registered voter living in the Runcorn and Helsby constituency.
This will include polling station information for electors who do not have a postal or proxy vote.
