Four pupils from St Berteline’s C of E Primary School in Runcorn have won the 2025 Junior Safety Officers Award – a huge achievement in a very competitive year!
Esme Barrow, Erin Kenny, Saraya Wright and Isla Egerton Jenkins (pictured above) won the prestigious award which recognises pupils’ enthusiasm and hard work in promoting road, community, personal, internet, water and fire safety messages both within their school and the wider community throughout the past year.
It is a fantastic achievement as the standard of work from all the schools was exceptionally high.
The scheme incorporates various safety messages, and the officers lead assemblies, run sessions during lunchtime and arrange competitions throughout the year to re-enforce these messages. They are responsible for setting a good example of good safety practices to all the other pupils and the wider community.
Cllr Paul Nolan, the Council’s Executive Board Member for Employment, Learning & Skills and Community. said: ‘Congratulations to the four star pupils who have won our Junior Safety Officers of the year awards. A very impressive achievement!’
The children were delighted to receive the shield for the school and their individual trophies.
Due to the exceptional high standard of work this year the judges awarded two runner-up places to Hill View School (Ronnie Sharples and Ella Rae Glover) and St Edward’s School (Dottie Day and Holly O’Connor).
