Two star pupils, Holly Clair and Olivia Jones, from St Berteline’s CE Primary School in Runcorn, have won Halton’s Junior Safety Officers of the Year Award.
This is a fantastic achievement as 32 schools in the borough took part in the scheme.
The award recognises their enthusiasm and hard work in promoting various safety messages such as road safety, personal safety, car seat safety and water safety to name a few.
The children also promoted wellbeing schemes such as Walk to School Week and being a good citizen. The girls led assemblies and ran competitions throughout the year to re-inforce the safety messages and encouraged their peers to engage and take part in the activities.
Their work was displayed colourfully in their evidence workbook, where it was evident how hard the girls had worked.
The children were delighted to receive their individual trophies and the overall winners shield to display in their cabinet.
