Temporary closures of the footpath crossing the Silver Jubilee Bridge will now remain in place a little longer due to some weather-dependent work being delayed.
The Council had hoped that all the work would be finished around the end of November (weather permitting) to enable pedestrians and cyclists to cross the bridge at any time of the day.
However, discussions with the contractor have concluded that the footbridge will need to remain closed until approximately December 20. The recent poor weather has delayed the completion of some work to the eastern elevation of the bridge which cannot be carried out in bad weather.
The shuttle bus service will continue, 7.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, until the reopening.
