Construction students from Ashley School in Widnes enjoyed their recent visit to Halton’s new leisure centre site so much it has sparked their interest in the industry.
The Year 11 class were shown around the site by contractor Wates who talked them through the project, showed them the plans and answered questions.
The students found the whole experience exciting and very interesting, bringing to life what they are being taught in the classroom. The school were also impressed by the safety procedures on the site which made them feel completely safe and at ease.
Having been so enthused by the visit, a number of students have since expressed a desire to actually pursue a career in the construction industry.
