The Brindley, Halton Borough Council’s multi-award winning theatre is gearing up for another big season this Spring.

The venue has once again been awarded a prestigious Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence and there is plenty of excellent entertainment on offer in Runcorn from January onwards at Halton’s flagship venue. Not forgetting that the free parking available is an added bonus.

The well-known names coming this Spring include Jason Donovan who presents his Amazing Midlife Crisis show on Monday 11 March which will feature tales of Neighbours, Kylie, Joseph, I’m A Celebrity, Strictly and more.

There is a chance to join Film Star and TV Legend Ricky Tomlinson on Thursday 21 March as he takes you on a journey through his hugely successful career. He will also be joined by some special guests and there will be an opportunity for a photo or to ask him a question.

There are family shows for all ages, such as the Sooty Show, Room on the Broom and the educational, entertaining, explosive and fun show Ministry of Science on Wednesday 3 April , which takes an anarchic approach to science with talented presenters using brilliantly designed demonstrations.

The amazing Irish Dance show Sprit of the Dance, which has been seen by over thirty million people worldwide is coming to the Brindley on Tuesday 12 February and the Stars of Les Miserables, the ‘Barricade Boys’ come direct from the West End on Friday 22 March with fabulous harmonies, incredible vocals, dashing good looks and fantastic personalities.

The venue continues to be place to see the best of the comedy circuit with the likes of political satirist and co-writer of internet sensation Jonathan Pie Andrew Doyle, star of Comedy Central Carl Hutchinson, Edinburg Fringe favourite Patrick Monahan plus old-school comedy legends Cannon & Ball on Wednesday 1 May.

There are music masters in the form of Ireland’s legends of music and song The Fureys on Wednesday 27 February and Geordie music heroes Billy Mitchell and Ray Laidlaw present The Lindisfarne Story on Saturday 6 April when you can expect all the classics such as Fog on the Tyne, Meet me on the Corner, Lady Eleanor and more.

There are great tribute shows to David Bowie, The Beatles, Phil Collins, Thin Lizzy and Tina Turner plus Abba and Little Mix tribute ‘Black Magic’ for the more pop minded. The Brindley Studio continues to present the best in folk and acoustic shows.

Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for The Arts, Cllr Phil Harris, said: “We have tried to make sure there is something for everyone this season, no matter your age or taste in art/music.

“There are household names and some newcomers to the scene well worth checking out.”
