We’re proud to announce the launch of Stronger for Longer – part of the Age Well offer from Halton’s Health Improvement Team.

Our recent launch event at the DCBL Stadium brought partners, community groups, and residents together to share our vision, explain how the service works, and celebrate the incredible co-production and community spirit that shaped this exciting new chapter.

Stronger for Longer replaces the Sure Start to Later Life service, which many residents will remember for its long-running Get Together events. Under our new name and approach, we’re offering even more personalised support to people aged 55+ to help Halton residents stay healthy, connected, mobile, and independent as they age.

What’s new?

We now offer a free, 12-week support programme with one-to-one guidance to help you stay Stronger for Longer.

✔️ Understand your health with a mini health check

✔️ Improve your social networks by linking to community groups and activities

✔️ Identify and tackle barriers such as transport, digital access or low confidence

✔️ Talk about what matters to you & help you set achievable wellbeing goals

✔️ Make desired improvements to your lifestyle, health and social connections

This model was co-produced with professionals and local people, and reflects our commitment to early intervention and prevention, delivered as part of the Public Health team.
