Dr Patrick Greene OBE will be sharing his stories and memories of community excavations undertaken between 1971 and 1987 at Norton Priory.
The event, part of Celebrate Halton, Halton’s Borough of Culture programme, starts at 6:30pm on Saturday 25th September in the museum building. It will provide a rare opportunity to hear first-hand from the original director of excavations at what is now recognised as Europe’s most excavated monastic site.
Tickets for ‘An Evening with Dr. Patrick Greene OBE’ are now on sale, priced £12 per person (£10 for members), to include a hotpot supper (a vegetarian option is also available): https://www.nortonpriory.org/…/an-evening-with-dr-patrick-g…
Patrick’s visit coincides with the opening of new trenches by the University of Liverpool’s Department of Archaeology, Classics and Egyptology, under the direction of Professor Harold Mytum and Dr. Rob Philpott, as over 80 undergraduates will be seeking to help uncover more of Norton Priory’s secrets.
