After a successful live performance with Elton John in 2017, Halton can once again look forward to a global megastar performing live in the borough.

Multi-million selling recording artist Bryan Adams brings his spectacular open-air show to the DCBL Stadium, Widnes on Saturday 2 July.

Halton Borough Council Executive Board Member for Community and Culture, Paul Nolan said: “Many locals will remember what a brilliant atmosphere the Elton John concert was at the home of the Widnes Vikings.

“And they won’t want to miss out that experience when Bryan Adams comes to town. “

Adams’ influence spans four decades, during which he has recorded fourteen studio albums. ‘So Happy It Hurts’ is the Canadian singer-songwriters fifteenth studio album, scheduled for release on 11 March 2022.

The highly anticipated album features 12 new songs co-written by Bryan, including recently released ‘So Happy It Hurts’, ‘On The Road’, ‘Kick Ass’ and ‘Never Gonna Rain’.

His songwriting has garnered him numerous awards and accolades including three Academy Award nominations, five Golden Globe nominations and a Grammy Award for hits that include ‘Everything I Do, I Do It for You’, ‘Heaven’ and ‘Summer of 69’.

Adams has had 27 top 40 singles, including number one hits ‘(Everything I Do) I Do it For You’, on the soundtrack for the 1991 film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, and ‘Don’t Give Up’ with Chicane.

Widely considered one of the most iconic rock musicians in the world, Adams has sold more than 65 million albums worldwide.

The promotor of the show – Orchard Live is bringing Bryan Adams to Widnes for his performance, which was originally scheduled to take place in 2021 and was postponed due to Covid along with many other tours and shows.

Bryan Adams is set and ready to put on a show this summer and is making up for lost time, touring not one but two new albums since the tour was released.
