Halton residents have been getting emails (above) allegedly from TV Licensing stating there is a problem with their Direct Debit payment for their TV Licence, which is about to expire.
Council Trading Stadards Officers are warning that this is a scam.
Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for Trading Standards, Cllr Dave Cargill, said: “The email urges the recipient to renew their Licence online, warning that it could be cancelled and a debt collection agency instructed if they don’t act straight away.
“Just delete it is our advice.”
