Halton Borough Council Trading Standards is warning residents to be wary of official-looking letters targeting homeowners within the Borough about a Government Funding Grant Scheme.
The letters are direct marketing from a company and have not been sent by the either Halton Borough Council or the UK Government.
Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for Trading Standards, Cllr Martha Lloyd Jones said: “Residents should remain cautious if they receive any unsolicited letters, phone calls, texts, emails or doorstep calls from any traders assuring them that they or their property will be eligible for such Schemes. “
Official support is available to help residents improve their homes’ energy efficiency through various initiatives.
