Halton Borough Council has received reports from residents about getting slips through their doors suggesting their windows have been cleaned and that they now need to pay.
Trading Standards Officers say these slips ask for an online bank transfer to be made rather than cash, due to Covid-19.
Residents believe that their windows have not been cleaned and thus no service has been provided.
Halton Borough Executive Board Member for Trading Standards, Cllr Dave Cargill, said: “If you have not agreed to have your windows cleaned (or any other services), then there is no contract and therefore no need to pay. “
