Residents in Halton are being urged to check if they are eligible for the Home Upgrade Grant (HUG2) before the window closes for new grant applications in November.

Cllr Phil Harris, the Council’s Executive Board Member for Climate Change said:

“The Home Upgrade Grant is specifically targeted at homes without gas heating to install measures to improve energy efficiency, make the home warmer and help bring down the cost of heating.

“If you are a home owner, the improvements to your home are free and could include energy retrofit measures such as double glazing, loft and external wall insultation; as well as low carbon heating systems such as solar panels and air source heats pumps.

“I would urge anyone who lives in a home which isn’t heated by gas, to take 5 minutes to check if they are eligible – it could make a make a big difference to your home and energy bills this winter and for many more to come.”

Residents can check if they are eligible by visiting Green Homes Grant or by calling Ecogee on 0151 521 4520.

The Home Upgrade Grant is being managed by Ecogee, an energy and construction specialist company, on behalf of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Halton Borough Council.
