Halton Borough Council is encouraging everyone to get active on National Fitness Day (Wednesday 25 Sept) with the chance to try a range of activities in our three main leisure centres for FREE.
And there are a couple of other events where you can warm up for the occasion and help raise cash at the same time.
National Fitness Day is a chance to highlight the role physical activity plays across the UK, helping us raise awareness of its importance in helping us lead healthier and active lifestyles.
It sees a huge range of activity options enjoyed by participants of all ages nationally , such as ‘plank offs’, yoga and pilates classes, treadmill challenges, high-street HIIT classes, dance-offs, mass walks and many more.
Halton is offering free use of the gyms and pools as well as bootcamp, pads and bikes and aqua fit. There are even free personal training sessions available in Runcorn.
The Council’s Sports Development Team will be running sports hall activities from 4pm to 6pm, including athletics, javelin and speed bounce.
There will be football and tennis at Kingsway and gym floor challenges with prizes to be won!
Swimming will be FREE for everyone all day any session at all three sites (Runcorn, Brookvale & Kingsway)
There will be a special membership offer to mark the occasion – Join today for JUST £10 and pay nothing until November! T&C’s apply.
Halton Borough Council’s Executive Board Member for Sport, Cllr Phil Harris, said: “This is a great chance to try something you have never tried before. It’s free so what have you got to lose?
“You may enjoy it so much you want to keep it up and feel the benefit for weeks to come.”
