The Brindley, Halton’s Borough Council’s multi-award winning theatre is gearing up for another big season in Spring 2017, including a star of Strictly Come Dancing and a Game of Thrones favourite. We also have folk, rock. opera, comedy, drama and a sprinkling of tribute bands,

The venue has recently been awarded a prestigious Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence and there is plenty of excellent entertainment on offer in Runcorn from January onwards at Halton’s flagship venue.

Some of the star names appearing at the Brindley include the Russian star of Strictly Come Dancing Pasha Kovalev, who presents his brand new show on Tuesday 9 May along with his fantastic dancers. Expect your favourite dances, stunning costumes, great music, chat and fun for all the family.

The venue continues to be place to see the best of the comedy circuit with Manford’s Comedy Club now a well-established event, with the acts hand-picked by Jason Manford himself plus a few surprise big name appearances. Also featured this autumn, are established comedy names such as Lee Nelson and Lee Hurst.

There is the great comedy play If The Show Fits, featuring sharp observations and humour in everyday life at Goody 2 Shooz, a Liverpool shoe shop.

Local born, playwright Michael Livesley presents his quintessential English comedy Sir Henry at Rawlinson’s End from the pen of Vivian Stanshell, that has received 5 star reviews in the national press.

Actor Rhodri Miles, who is currently filming the next series of Game of Thrones presents his brilliant one-man show Burton about the life of the great Welsh actor, Richard Burton in March.

There are shows for all ages, such as The Sooty Show for little ones on 23 April, Black Magic, The Little Mix Show on 13 February and the spectacular Irish music and dance show Rhythm of the Dance.

The best of classic rock and folk continue to be represented by the likes of From the Jam and The Manfreds and the Mercury nominated mavericks of British folk music The Unthanks appear on 10 May.

Connoisseurs and newcomers to opera can enjoy stars from the major companies including Covent Garden, English National Opera and Glyndebourne when London Festival Opera present A Night at the Opera on 24 May. While ballet fans can enjoy Sleeping Beauty by Allegrodance on 28 February and Alice in Wonderland by Ballet Theatre UK on 19 April.
