Green Careers Week is a opportunity for organisations across the country to celebrate the many different roles and careers that contribute to a more sustainable future. This includes renewable energy and biodiversity conservation, sustainable transport, and green construction.
We’re proud to have supported Green Careers Week 2025 by showcasing the some of the roles at Halton Borough Council that are making a real difference and helping to shape a cleaner, greener borough.
To begin the week we introduced one of our newest colleagues, Climate Change Apprentice, Emma. Whilst still new to the role, Emma is already getting stuck into her apprenticeship, learning new skills and helping to make Halton greener and more efficient – including working towards our Corporate Priority to become net 0 by 2024. Find out more in our Corporate Plan.
Watch Emma discuss her new role in the video below.
At the end of Green Careers Week we spoke with Siobhan Royle, Ecologist at Halton Borough Council, and found out more about her work to protect the environment and wildlife across the borough.
Watch Siobhan talk more about some of the exciting projects coming up in the future in the video below and keep and eye on our Halton Borough Council social media pages to find out how you can get involved.
