Foster carers from Halton hosted a charity auction last week to raise money for their fostering charity Another Chance to Care.

The annual event took place at the Holiday Inn in Runcorn and hundreds of guests came together for the cause. Each year the event builds on the last, with impressive prizes up for grabs, entertainment for all ages, delicious food and special guests.

The aim of the event is to raise funds to take children in care on an educational trip to London. The total raised at the event this year was £1044.00.

Halton’s Borough Council’s Executive Board member for Children & Young People, Cllr Tom McInerney, said “It’s a real pleasure to join our foster carers and their families at such a meaningful event, the funds raised will make a huge difference to our children in care and I can’t thank the organisers enough for their invite and huge efforts to make the night a success”.

Mayor & Consort of Halton 2019-20 Cllr Margaret Horabin & Mr Carl Horabin took to Facebook to express their delight “It was a great evening and was lovely to see the children enjoying themselves dancing and just having fun, Hot Pot supper was beautiful, and I even won a couple of times on the raffle”.
